Car trouble is bad enough when you’re close to home. When you’re travelling, the last thing you need is someone breaking into your car as well.
That’s why we’ve paired Clancy with the Lock’d Car Defender.
Lock’d is a visible deterrent that makes thieves think twice before breaking in. Its braided steel cable locks into your seatbelt buckle, stopping the steering wheel from turning.
We’ve also included a Faraday pouch to block your car key’s signal and help protect against relay theft.
Important fitment note: Lock'd does not fit the Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series or Toyota Prado 250.
A basic OBD scan follows the standard diagnostic path. Clancy can switch communication paths through the OBD port to look deeper into the car.

Get the full picture, not just a fault code.
Get a deeper read of what’s going on.
Go beyond the quick “all clear” that can leave you guessing. Deep Scan helps surface more of what the car is reporting before you assume there’s nothing else to see.
Fault history at your fingertips.
Compare what's happening now with faults the car recorded before, so previously logged issues don't disappear from the picture just because they aren't active today.
Turn fault codes into something useful.
Skip the code-search rabbit hole. Clancy AI Mechanic explains what the fault means, what could be causing it and what to check next.
See how your car is behaving in real time.
Watch RPM, coolant temperature, fuel trims, O₂ sensor readings and more as they change live to spot patterns a fault code can’t show.
Run the quick check — model year, make and fuel type. Australian-delivered petrol vehicles from 2006 and diesel from 2007 meet the main OBD2 requirement, and some earlier vehicles are also covered. If yours isn't confirmed automatically, email us your year, make, model and fuel type and we'll confirm.

What is Clancy AI Mechanic?
A built-in feature that explains what a fault code means, likely causes and what to check next — and you can ask follow-up questions.
Does Clancy work with iPhone and Android?
Yes — both, through the companion app over Bluetooth.
Can I export my scan results?
Yes. Export a PDF vehicle report to save or share.
Does Clancy do coding, service resets or bidirectional tests?
No. Clancy is built for diagnosis — reading, understanding and clearing faults. Those workshop-control functions need a different class of tool.

Great little unit. I'm not interested in becoming a mechanic, I just want to know what the car is trying to tell me before I book it in.
I don't know much about cars and normally a warning light just means stress and a trip to the mechanic. It told me what the code meant and gave me something useful to show the workshop. I felt a lot more confident knowing what they were looking at before I went in.
Used it on a second hand car before buying. Dash looked clean but there were stored faults sitting there. Walked away from that one and probably saved myself a headache. Very happy I had this with me
Had a rough idle and It narrowed it down to the cylinder that was misfiring. Checked the coil and plug on that cylinder first instead of changing parts everywhere. Fixed it, cleared the code and rescanned. Light has stayed off.
The scan report is a great feature. Sent it to my mechanic before the booking so he already knew what codes were showing. Made the whole conversation quicker and I didn't feel like I was starting from zero
Used it on my 2019 RAV4 for a warning light and it pointed me in the right direction. One uncommon code still needed a bit of extra research, but the main diagnosis and fault history were helpful.
A workshop wanted to charge me just to plug in their scanner. I bought Clancy instead, found the fault on my 2021 Swift and went in knowing what I was dealing with. It has already justified the purchase.
My 2014 Commodore had a rough idle and Clancy narrowed it down to a cylinder misfire. That gave me somewhere sensible to start instead of replacing random parts. Fixed the problem and the rescan came back clear. I tested it again after the repair and the result was clear.
I use the live data more than I thought I would. On my 2021 D-Max I could watch RPM, coolant temperature and other readings while the engine was running and see what changed when the problem happened. The data updates quickly and the phone screen makes it easy to read. It's a very useful middle ground between a cheap code reader and a big workshop scan tool. The small size is handy because it doesn't take up any room in the car.
My 2015 Focus had a warning light come on and I didn't want to book it in just to be told a code number. Clancy connected to my phone quickly and the deep scan found the fault plus an older stored code I didn't know about. The explanation in the app gave me a rough idea of what I was looking at and I saved the report. I took that report to the mechanic and they confirmed the same area needed attention. They still did their own checks, but I felt a lot more comfortable because I understood the problem before authorising anything. After the repair I rescanned it and cleared the supported code. Really useful tool for a normal car owner.
Bought this because I was sick of getting a code number and then spending half an hour on Google. On my 2021 Swift it explained what the fault meant and what I should check first. Much more useful than a basic reader.
My 2016 X-Trail had a noticeable misfire but I didn't know which cylinder was causing it. Clancy narrowed it down so I could check the ignition side on that cylinder first instead of throwing parts at the whole engine. After the repair I cleared the code and rescanned the car. Everything has been fine since and the tool basically paid for itself on that job.

Great for DIY checks and easy once connected. The OBD port in my car is awkward to reach, so plugging it in was the hardest part. Clancy itself worked fine.

Very handy tool. The app is clear and the report is useful to show a mechanic. I would like the live-data graphs to be a little larger, but the readings themselves work well. I also like being able to keep the scan report for later.
The fault history is what sold me. It showed one current issue and a couple of older stored faults on my 2014 Commodore, so I could tell what actually needed attention now. Very straightforward app.
I bought Clancy after getting quoted a diagnostic fee just to find out why the warning light was on. It picked up the fault on my 2020 Ranger and gave me enough information to decide whether I could deal with it myself or book it in. I ended up using a mechanic, but I walked in informed and could hand them the report. That alone was worth it for me.
Ran a scan before taking my 2017 i30 to the mechanic and showed them the report. It made the conversation much easier because I already had the codes and system details in front of me. Very handy tool.
The report function has been more useful than I expected. I scanned my 2016 X-Trail at home, saved the results and showed the mechanic exactly what Clancy had picked up. They still did their own diagnosis, which is fair, but it meant I could explain the symptoms and codes properly instead of just saying 'a light came on'. Makes the whole workshop conversation less stressful.

I've used a few phone scanners and the thing I hate is paying again every year. Clancy does the useful stuff I need and the updates are included. That alone makes it much better value for me.

I bought Clancy mainly because we're shopping for a used car for the family. I tried it first on our 2015 Golf so I knew how the app worked, then took it with me to inspect another car. The seller said there were no issues and there were no warning lights on the dash. The scan still showed stored faults and one current issue, which gave me a completely different picture of the car. I showed the seller the result and asked about the repair history before deciding what to do. I like that it doesn't pretend to replace a mechanic, it just gives you information before you make a decision. For me that is exactly what I wanted.
I've started taking Clancy with me when looking at used cars. On one car the dashboard looked fine and the test drive was normal, but the scan showed stored faults that had obviously been cleared previously. I didn't automatically walk away, but it gave me questions to ask and something concrete to show the seller. For the cost of the scanner that peace of mind is excellent. I also like being able to keep the scan report for later.

I specifically needed something that could go beyond the engine ECU. My old reader was fine for a basic check engine light but useless when the ABS and airbag lights appeared. Clancy saw both systems on my 2018 Prado and separated the current fault from an older stored one. Much closer to the information I actually wanted.
Had a check engine light on, found the issue, repaired it and then used Clancy to clear the supported code. Light has stayed off since. Nice to be able to finish the whole job without another workshop visit.
Really like seeing which faults are current and which are old. Makes the scan much easier to understand. The useful part for me was being able to see the misfire.
Good scanner and much more useful than my old basic reader. It picked up an ABS fault and an older stored code on my 2019 RAV4. Only reason for four stars is the full scan took a little longer than I expected on this car.
