It started with our Ford Ranger. We wanted a steering lock for it, and nothing we found was right.

FAQs

Can't they just unclip it from the seatbelt?

No. Go for the release button the way you would to get out, and you'll find it covered. Only the key gets it out.

Can't they just cut it?

Yes. A grinder will cut it. So will a blade through the steering wheel. Any lock can be beaten with tools and time. Its job is to make a thief decide you're not worth the bother when the next car has nothing. From the footpath, yours means getting tools out. And if a thief ever beats it, you get a full refund.

Does each lock have its own keys?

Yes. Every lock comes with its own set of 3 unique keys.

Could it damage my car?

No. The steel is soft-coated and won't mark your wheel. Nothing is wired in, and your car's warranty stays untouched.

Will it last?

Had to cut off 10 mil off the main Locking Section body to enable it to fit a Landcruiser 300. Had to add some rubber trím from Bunnings around the main body to protect against cutting the upholstery of the Landcruiser seat. Would be great if you had a purpose made version for Landcruiser 300 series.

I purchased one to try it out on the car we use everyday. Ordered the bright yellow as it shows up better through tinted windows. It was so easy to use, I promptly ordered one for our old Prado which is keyless entry. Both orders arrived quite quickly and the Faraday pouch, which was free with the orders, is another level of protection. Knockers will say they can be cut but car stealing is done quickly so it’s not unrealistic to expect thieves will move to the next car which hasn’t got visible protection.
